THE RUBY DARLINGS - Cabaret Review at Edfringe

The wonderfully talented Ruby and Darling will definitely tempt even a virtuous girl like me to join their 50 minute journey into their darkest, sweetest secrets. Two wonderfully intelligent young women, joined by their shy pianist, delve into the perennial mysteries of the female soul with great tact, delicacy and delectation.

Lilly Phillips and Rachel Le Moeligou started as trained dancers and have in a short period of time developed the slickest cabaret act that will convince even my good self whom I always consider as one of the most mistrustful audience members.

The narrative of their Act is positively feminist. Proudly, pompously, congenially and purely feminist without offending, transgressing or unsettling you, their material is characterised more by femaleness than politics but it is handled with great subtlety and humour. The show was conceived and directed by Grace Staniland Lily Phillips, Rachel Le Moeligou and David Tims with a musicality and rhythm to entice even the most indecisive amongst you.
