Pictures of Life is an exhilarating musical spectacle written by Lionel Oscar Segal for choir, soloists and orchestra. It is an inspiring and uplifting work written in three movements with the power to touch us all with its celebration of human spirit and endeavour. Pictures of Life urges us to unite as one world with hope and faith and encourages us to take action and work together to preserve our precious planet for future generations. The premiere performance of Pictures of Life will take place at 3pm on 15th July 2012 in the heart of St Pancras International. This will be followed by a pageant like procession which will culminate with a full length performance at The Camden Centre, directly opposite St Pancras.
The Pictures of Life Choir will be lead by conductor Steve Edis and will feature 4 soloists, a barbershop quartet, and an ensemble of vocalists. The full length Camden Centre performance will take place at 5pm and the choir will be accompanied on stage by a 9 piece orchestra.
On the 15th July in conjunction with the performances Quirkas Productions will also be running a mini environmental expo at the Camden Centre with stalls, fun and interactive children’s activities and a raffle, giving the audience an opportunity to meet and interact with representatives from environmental charities and partners. The expo will provide a real chance to find out how we can become more sustainable and help keep our precious world safe for future generations.
Profits from funds raised at the performances on 15th July will be donated to the World Land Trust who raise funds for the purchase and permanent protection of biologically important habitats which are crucial for the survival of endangered species like Orang-utans, Jaguars and Elephants. The World Land Trust and the Pictures of Life choir hopes to help raise awareness and funds for this vital cause.

St Pancras International
Designed by William Barlow, St Pancras International originally opened in 1868 and for its time was an engineering marvel - it was the largest enclosed space in the world and provided the grandest entrance into London. Almost 150 years later, after a £800m restoration project, St Pancras International reopened in 2007 and has set new standards for railway stations. Now it is much more than just a station, with more shops than any other railway station, its own fresh produce market, the longest Champagne Bar in Europe and a Gastro Pub. www.stpancras.com
World Land Trust
A registered charity (no 1001291) whose patrons include Sir David Attenborough. The Trust was established in 1989 and since then has worked with its overseas project partners to save over 500,000 acres of tropical forests and other threatened habitats for their biodiversity. WLT also raises funds for tree planting in areas where forests have been lost in the past and offers a Carbon Balanced opportunity for companies and individuals. www.worldlandtrust.org
